Children's Ministry
"But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'" Matthew 19:14
"Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him." Psalms 127:3
At Calvary Chapel, it is our desire to please and glorify the Lord in all we do. It is only through knowing and loving Jesus that we are able to effectively minister to the children.
We seek to be accountable, careful and faithful as we serve the Lord with His littlest lambs. We systematically teach the Word of God to the children and we spend a great deal of time and effort preparing lessons and presentations that bring the truths of God's Word into the grasp of every child He brings to us.
The Children's Ministry at Calvary Chapel of the Triad is formatted to minister to each child personally. We seek to maintain low teacher to student ratios. We provide special age appropriate environments that facilitate the communication of God's Word and His love. All classes for ages 3 and up present lesson material that corresponds to the New Testament passage that Pastor David is teaching that morning in the Main Sanctuary.
The children have an upbeat and engaging worship time at each service. It is fun, active and totally Christ-centered.
All teachers and assistants have completed Servant Requirements for the Children's Ministry and have undergone background checks and screening. This is for the safety of the children and for our accountability before the Lord.
Each regularly attending child is provided with a an ID badge. So are the parents. These badges have numbers that correspond to each other and if a child requires a parent's attention during the service, the child's number is displayed prominently in the Main Sanctuary. Visitors are provided with a wristband that remains on the child at all times during the service. The parent is given a corresponding stub that is marked with the child's wristband number. The number is displayed in the Main Sanctuary if the parent's assistance is required. Numbers are checked, for accountability, at the end of service for child pick up.
All restroom trips are conducted by two adults to ensure child safety and adult accountability.
We request information pertaining to allergies or any health condition that may affect the safety and well-being of a child while he or she is in our care.
A Nursing Mothers room is available for the convenience of those with nursing infants. The room is equipped with closed circuit television which broadcasts the service going on in the Main Sanctuary.
All children below the 6th grade level are encouraged to attend the Children's Ministry class for their age or grade. If the child has difficulty separating from Mom or Dad, the parent is welcome to stay with their child in class until the child feels comfortable. There is also a closed circuit television in our bookstore/cafe where parents may view the service in the company of their child if the child is unable to join their class.
